Change is a one-two punch: it requires helping those in immediate need, and starting positive conversations with those on the other side. In April 2017 we held a Represent T-Shirt charity campaign in support of two leading organizations who are working tirelessly to make this happen.
100% of the campaign’s profits went to GLAAD and The Trevor Project – split right down the middle. With the help of the Shadowhunters and Malec fandom we raised $1,248!
For over 30 years, GLAAD has been at the forefront of cultural change, accelerating visibility, and therefore acceptance, for the LGBT community. Their mission states that they are “committed to the fair, accurate and inclusive representations of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer community and issues that affect their lives.”
Founded in 1998, The Trevor Project is the leading national organization saving young lives everyday through its accredited, free and confidential phone, instant message and text messaging crisis intervention services. A leader and innovator in suicide prevention, The Trevor Project offers the largest safe social networking community for LGBTQ youth, best practice suicide prevention educational trainings, resources for youth and adults, and advocacy initiatives.
