It’s no secret that a large part of what makes San Diego Comic Con so special isn’t just because of what is inside the convention center itself, but all of the fun stuff there is to do outside – from immersive “activations” featuring current and upcoming shows and movies, to themed parties, to restaurant pop-ups and takeovers. For five days a year the entire Gaslamp District is transformed into a pop culture paradise.
If you are lucky enough to be attending SDCC this year, we highly recommend you try to carve out some time to check out the Amazon Prime offsite (located on the corner of MLK and 1st). You’ll get treated to some pretty fun and well-done immersive experiences for The Expanse, Carnival Row, and The Boys. You can also snag some collectable coins, see some live performances, have your picture taken in the Cosplay Photography Corner, and get a bite to eat (courtesy of Carl’s Jr.).
We were able to attend the press preview event and are going to take you through the immersive experiences!
The Expanse
First up is The Expanse where I was taken to a planet called Ilus to help rescue a fallen soldier Ramon Andrews. Let me tell you, this one was intense!
The Boys
Next up is The Boys and just from the promo posters, it looks pretty fun. It is not always good to meet your heroes; in a world where the supes are the villains, you cannot trust anyone.
Also, for my own enjoyment… the car smokes and it made me extremely happy #SDCC #SDCC2019 #SDCC19 #TheBoysTV pic.twitter.com/FmuueiXaB4

Carnival Row
When you enter the line for Carnival Row, you need to pick a side…human or creature. I chose human because I panicked from too many choices. During the experience, you learn that the fae are persecuted for their very existence, and you are recruited to help them escape.
We hope you get a chance to spend some time at the Amazon Prime offsite at San Diego Comic Con; it’s definitely one of our faves this year!
