Episode 4×10 of The Magicians is titled “All That Hard, Glossy Armor” and SYFY has released some truly delicious teaser images for us to go crazy over. With no more context than the typical one-phrase synopsis (4×10: Margo hits her step count) – and the rumor that this is the musical episode – our best guess is that the baddest bitch in any world, and first-elected High King of Fillory, Margo Hanson, is going to walk 500 miles…and then 500 more to save Eliot’s soul and/or mind. Here are some context-less captions and wild-as-hell speculations about what’s to come.
Been spendin’ most their lives, livin’ in the hipsta’s paradise… How did Quentin, Julia, and Penny come to this place? Why is it full of old, creepy toys and intense fluorescent lighting?
It’s either the Island of Lost Toys or a thrift shop abusing neon signs, but from the look of sheer horror on Penny’s face, it’s probably the latter. Also, Quentin is totally rockin’ a “dad sweater” and we don’t hate it.
“Look, I don’t make the rules, one of you assholes is going to have to ride the pony and I mean that in the most literal way possible.”
“We have to free them, Q, we have to free them all.” Wild Speculation: One of the Monster’s precious stone organs is totally in that claw machine.
Well, someone or something unexpected has obviously shown up. It’s either an evil clown or J.J. Abrams; nothing else can survive in this blue lens-flare riddled environment.
Honestly, someone get a hold of John Barrowman; we have a whole new cast for Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.
Wild Speculation: Maybe it’s the clothing or the desert, or the general look of determination and dehydration on her face…but I’m getting some serious Jesus-wandering-the-desert-for-40-days-having-debates-with-the-Devil-type vibes from Margo. Is she embarking on a long spiritual walk in order to get Eliot back? Possibly with some temptations and hallucinations tormenting her the whole time?
We don’t want to get everyone’s hopes up, but this here looks like Margo at the start of her journey accompanied by the Monster we sometimes call Jennifer. But then…
…we have an image of Margo much later in her journey with…dare we say it? IS THAT ELIOT?
We don’t have a funny caption or wild speculation for this one, we just wanted to show you the beautiful composition of this shot paired with Holy Alligator Skin Long Coat. Hale Appleman can convey emotion in a still image like a Renaissance painting and we’re dying about it.
So, those are some wild and probably inaccurate interpretations of stills from The Magicians 4×10. What are your best guesses about what’s going on in these? Is Margo on a quest to get back Eliot? Will she succeed? What are Quentin, Penny, and Julia doing in a 1950s Toys “R” Us from hell? Hit us up on Twitter with your thoughts, and we’ll find out together when this episode airs Wednesday, March 27th!
The Magicians is currently in its fourth season and airs Wednesdays on SyFy. Seasons 1-3 are available for streaming on Netflix now.
